During this week's school board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Michelle Kuss-Cybula shared stories about individual student progress to demonstrate all of the behind-the-scenes effort of our strategic plan in action. "I wanted to thank all of the teachers and parents who are part of this incredible journey," shared Superintendent Dr. Michelle Kuss-Cybula. "But most importantly is thanking our students for all of their hard work."

Also during Monday's school board meeting, members of the Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) shared an update about their collective work that spans over two years, including conducting two community surveys. CFAC works collaboratively with Oak Harbor Public Schools to analyze facilities planning data, develop project options, and make a recommendation to the School Board of Directors for future capital improvement projects. As a reminder, Oak Harbor Public Schools uses The “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for school safety procedures. Students, staff, and local authorities regularly train practice, and drill on this protocol. The SRP is based on the following actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. Families are also encouraged to review SRP information at home with their children.
