Temperatures are dropping across the region. Colder weather signals the possibility of upcoming weather-related closures and delays. When school is in session and weather, road, or school conditions result in a schedule change, we inform families through multiple methods. If schools are operating on a normal schedule, no notifications will be issued. School closures and schedule changes are districtwide, even if your neighborhood is not severely impacted.

If a closure or delay is needed, staff and families will be notified through email, phone call, text message, social media, and our website.

Weather at this time of year can be unpredictable and students spend time outside daily - rain or shine! Please make sure to send your child to school with layers, including a warm rain coat. And don't forget to check in at your school's lost and found for items that may have been misplaced throughout the day in common areas.

It was a great display of #OneOakHarbor holiday spirit from students with the help of advisors Stacey Mahoney, OVE school counselor, Brittney Meier, MFLC, and Shannon Huff, paraprofessional.

Earlier this week, Superintendent Dr. Michelle Kuss-Cybula and Assistant Superintendent Dwight Lundstrom shared a meal with the Oak Harbor Council of the Navy League and provided an update about our schools. It was a great discussion that included trivia and Q&A about our new schools construction projects, progress on goals based on our strategic plan, and more.
