Oak Harbor High School Students Participate in AVIDsgiving

Oak Harbor High School’s AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) program celebrated its first “AVIDsgiving,” a festive gathering where administrators served a full Thanksgiving meal to all AVID students. The event mixed connection, reflection, and fun, starting with intentional table groups that brought students from different grade levels together. Each table kicked off with a “One Word Welcome,” choosing a word that captured their AVID experience so far and sharing it with the whole room.

Throughout the meal, students took part in WICOR Bingo, which is an interactive activity designed to spark conversations across grade levels, build community, and highlight the AVID skills students use every day. The celebration wrapped up with a Gratitude Circle, where students shared thanks, acknowledged growth, and reflected on the support they received this trimester.
