Free & Reduced Meals

Free & Reduced Meals

Reapply and Submit Your Application Annually

To maintain free meals for everyone, applications must be submitted every year. The free and reduced program includes one free meal for breakfast and lunch. If you received assistance last year, it will continue until October 16.

Applications also help to maintain other state educational funding which pays for classroom resources and reduces school fees.

No Cost Meals at Broad View Elementary, Crescent Harbor Elementary, and Olympic View Elementary

Beginning with the 2023-24 school year, the district will provide meals at no cost to students enrolled at Broad View Elementary, Crescent Harbor Elementary, and Olympic View Elementary in accordance with HB 1238 to provide no cost meals to students enrolled at elementary schools where 40% or more of enrolled children are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. “Elementary schools” are defined as schools that serve students in kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade and/or fourth grade. Regardless of other grade levels served in the school, any school that serves students in any of the above grades qualifies as an “elementary school.” Once a school qualifies under HB 1238, all students–regardless of grade level–will be offered meals free of charge. HB 1238 has a phase-in approach with the requirement expanding to elementary schools with 30% or more enrolled children eligible for free or reduced-price meals in school year 2024-25.
