Guidelines for Submitting a Flyer

Oak Harbor Public Schools welcomes the submission of digital flyers from community non-profit organizations that promote local or regional services, activities, or events that benefit students. Approved flyers are sent to families in an email once a week on Tuesday afternoons. Flyers must be submitted by noon on Tuesday to be included in that week’s distribution.

Paper copies of community flyers or announcements will not be accepted or distributed.

How it Works

  • Community organizations register with Peachjar and are *charged a fee per school selected for distribution, which is often less than the cost of printing and much more environmentally friendly. See instructions for quick submission below.
    • *Free events, activities, or services by local community organizations may qualify for limited free posting with Peachjar’s Community Free Flyer Program. If you are a non-profit organization with more than one free event for youth in a month, you can submit one PDF with a couple of pages as one flyer. Organizations that wish to request a community free flyer distribution should contact Peachjar directly.

Any material intended for district distribution must be approved by the district’s Communication Department. The district will not distribute materials that: 

  • Are obscene, lewd, or vulgar;
  • Are libelous;
  • Contain language that is intimidating, demeaning, harassing or threatening on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin or ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital or veteran status, including, but not limited to, racial, sexual, or ethnic slurs;
  • Promote commercial enterprises;
  • Promote the violation of existing laws, regulation or ordinances, or official school policy, rules or regulations; or
  • Proselytize or disparage religious beliefs.

Oak Harbor Public Schools reserves the right, at its discretion, to decline distribution if any guidelines are not met. Approval of a flyer does not reflect endorsement by the district.

Please note: Peachjar policies and terms prohibit school districts from posting digital flyers through the system on behalf of any external organizations.

Peachjar will automatically add this disclaimer at the base of all approved community E-Flyers (you do not need to add this):

“This event/activity is NOT sponsored by the school district and the district assumes no responsibility for the conduct/safety of the event/activity. The district does not sponsor/guarantee any of the information in these materials. Parents/guardians must review the information and decide on its appropriateness for their family as an individual decision.”
