On Monday, March 11, Oak Harbor Public Schools will begin accepting referrals for students in kindergarten and first grade for Highly Capable Program services this year. Parents, guardians, or teachers may refer students using the electronic K-1 Parent Referral Form, located on the Advanced Learning page. The deadline for parent or guardian referrals is Monday, March 25.
The main goal for kindergarten and first grade is to identify students who need changes to their instructional program because they perform or show potential for performing at advanced levels. Services take place in the students’ classrooms.
Follow the links on the Advanced Learning page for more information about the screening process. For referral assistance, contact Katie Coder at 360.279.5037.
