Welcome Message
Dear OHHS Community,
It is nearly impossible to go 24 hours without hearing music. It is part of the very fabric of what it means to be human. However, what you see on the page is not music. It’s ink. Ink doesn’t sing, or play an instrument, so it relies on us to create a piece of art and, in the process, create a better version of ourselves. Through study of music, students in this class learn to discern what is worthy about ourselves and what needs to improve. Attendance improves, critical thinking skills improve, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. With or without musical experience, you are welcome in this program.
Music is a study in teamwork. So, to my students, fellow teachers, and community members, thank you for supporting the aesthetic education which our young people so desperately need and deserve.
