Mr. Peter Esvelt

  • Welcome Message

    Dear Students and Families,

In teaching World History, I hope that each student leaves with a better appreciation of the events that led us to where we are today, and an understanding of how those events can shape our choices and decisions in current events.  We will cover a wide range of events, focusing on the changes that occurred in each era, the impact events and interactions had on cultures and individuals during the time, and the long-reaching effects of those events.

To better understand the history we are studying, we will use a variety of sources and activities that allow us to better see events unfold, and the connection from those events to today.  We will strengthen critical thinking skills, reading to gain information, and writing in support of opinions gathered in the study of history.

Our course, Modern World History, covers from the 1400’s into current times.  We make frequent use of the online textbook, "History Alive: World Connections", and ask students to access the online textbook at home as needed.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Esvelt
