I'm happy to be your child's teacher this year. I have taught first grade for many years and have called  Oak Harbor and Hillcrest "home" for more than 25 years.  

 

First grade is the most interesting year, in my opinion.  Children start the year as new learners, barely out of Kindergarten, and leave as students ready to take on the world of academics in second grade.

 

This is a year of tremendous growth in reading, writing, and math. The skills learned will help expand knowledge in other areas, such as science and social studies. As your child makes new discoveries, please encourage him/her to share what he/she has learned.

  

 

Please do not hesitate to ask questions and have conversations about school, learning, and your child. You and I are on the same team. Working together, we can help your child make great progress this year.
