Dearest Students and Families,

Welcome to Kindergarten! It is with great excitement that I get to welcome you to Kindergarten at Hillcrest! Although I have had the honor of teaching a variety of grade levels, I secretly believe Kindergarten is the best grade! Everything about kindergarten is joyful and I simply feel like I've won the lottery to work with our youngest learners. Kindergarten ROCKS!!

I will begin our year by collecting data on each child's developing skills (as they play & learn) in the area of social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, literacy, & mathematics. This information will assist me in planning purposeful lessons to ensure I meet the needs of every child. I consider myself a life-long learner and strive daily to instill a LOVE for learning in my students. 

As we settle into our year together, among other things, we will learn about: letters, sounds, rhyme, isolating phonemes, blending cvc words, talking & writing in complete sentences, telling & writing stories, numbers, shapes, adding, subtracting, & word problems; as well as science, social studies, purposeful play.  Teaching is the BEST job ever and I sincerely look forward to working with you and your child.
