Hello Crescent Harbor Elementary families!

I am starting my first year here in Oak Harbor School District. I am a new Whidbey Island resident, having recently moved from the Bay Area of California. There I taught first grade, fifth grade, and special education for nearly twenty years.

Once I found a career and place in education, I never looked back. Each day in teaching brings a new chance to learn and grow, academically and socially, both for students and adults. It is a rare day that I don’t come home with a story of a student’s success in the classroom and at least one funny anecdote to share.

In the classroom, I believe that all students are capable of learning through differentiated practices and led by a caring adult that believes that all students will succeed when given the right tools and support.

I look forward to a great first year at Crescent Harbor Elementary and can’t wait to learn about my new community.
