Hello Families!
Welcome to North Whidbey Middle School and Mr. Sisto’s 7th grade history class! In starting my 30th year of supporting students in Oak Harbor, I am excited to be your child's teacher this year and help them figure out their first year of middle school. It can be complicated and emotional at times, but please know I am an advocate for yoru child's success.
Some of the most important work we do in education is to help students connect relationally with each other. To develop strong and lasting connections, building a strong classroom community is critical. Building that sense of community means giving students the tools to share their voice in shaping what our learning environment looks and feels like. As we navigate getting to know each other and develop classroom expectations, students will have the chance to share their ideas to help make the classroom what they want it to be.
While this year may present challenges for your child, please know that my goal is to work with your child and you to help build confident young learners. If at any time you need to reach out, please do so. The sooner we can resolve any concerns you may have, the sooner we can help your child know they are an important part of our learning community.
