    Hello students and families!

I am so excited to be joining the Crescent Harbor family this year! I have been teaching for nine years and this will be my first year at Crescent Harbor. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I taught as a Special Education Teacher for 5 years in Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades. For the past 4 years I taught in San Diego, California as an Autism/Behavior teacher in a multi-age classroom for 2nd and 3rd grades.

I follow a love and logic approach to teaching and believe in educating the whole child, including academics, social-emotional learning, and behavioral needs. I take care to differentiate instruction and approach for all students’ needs as we are all unique and have an innate desire to be understood and heard. I promote respect and dignity for both children and adults through a structured and safe learning environment. As the new school year approaches, I will be reaching out to provide you more information about our classroom, class-wide positive behavior system, and home-school communication.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing with my dog, spending time outdoors, yoga, cooking, and reading a good book. I look forward to meeting all of you and having a great school year!

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Kate Zajac
