Lawson, Dawn

  • National Board Certified Teacher

    Hello Orca Families!

My name is Dawn Lawson, and I am so fortunate to teach students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades in our Primary Learning Center.  In our resource room, we work to improve our reading, writing, math, and social skills.

My husband and I live in Oak Harbor and enjoy everything there is to offer on beautiful Whidbey Island.  We love spending time with our family of three grown children and two grandsons, our pet family of several cats and a cockatiel, going to concerts and sporting events, and hanging out at the beach.

I love being a lifelong learner!  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Radio-Television from Southern Illinois University, a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the College of Santa Fe, and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico.  I'm currently taking online coursework through Washington State University (Go Cougs)!  I am also a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy.  I love teaching just as much as I did when I started 23 years ago!  I strongly believe that students achieve when parents and teachers work together.  Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the year.  I know we are going to have a great year!
