Lawson, Dawn

  • National Board Certified Teacher

Hello, Orca Families!  My name is Dawn Lawson.  This year I will be serving our Distance Plus resource students virtually.  I'm so excited to start this new adventure!

My husband and I live in Oak Harbor and enjoy everything there is to offer on beautiful Whidbey Island.  We love spending time with our family of three grown children and two grandsons, our pet family of several cats and a cockatiel, watching football, beachcombing, and camping in the North Cascades.

I have been teaching for 24 years as a resource room teacher, classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and literacy coach.  I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy.  I earned my Special Education endorsement through Washington State University (Go Cougs)!  I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Radio-Television from Southern Illinois University, a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the College of Santa Fe, and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico.
I strongly believe that students achieve when families and teachers work together.  Please feel free to contact me at any time throughout the year.
    Mrs. Lawson
