  • Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to first grade! I am very excited for what's in store for the 2017-2018 school year. This will be my second year at Hillcrest. I was chosen to be a "guest Heron" last year as a long term guest teacher and am very honored that I am back as a full-time Heron!

I have three and a half years teaching experience. I've taught 2nd and 3rd grade in New Orleans, LA and 1st grade in the great state of Washington. I graduated from Texas Woman's University and am proud to be a military spouse and veteran.

I believe that communication is a vital component of the student-teacher-parent relationship. Class Dojo messages and email are my preferred lines of communication but I am always happy to respond to phone calls too! This year I will be using Class Dojo as a way to communicate what's going on in our classroom, from behaviors to pictures of learning in action, to private messages. Please stand by for more detailed information on Dojo headed your way.

I can't wait to work with you to see your child reach his/her highest potential.
