Meet the Teacher Conferences (Soft Start)
We cannot wait to connect with our families. The first two days of the school year (Sept. 14 & 15) are designated time slots that allow families to meet their student’s teachers. Each meet-n-greet will either be in-person or by a virtual conference. This pre-scheduled time gives our students the opportunity to learn our new procedures, ask any questions, and familiarize themselves with their selected instructional models. Families will use our conference scheduler via Skyward Family Access beginning on September 8 to select their time slot.
WA Kids Conferences (Kindergarten)
Our full-day kindergarten is part of the WaKIDS initiative. To get the school year off to a positive start, WaKIDS kindergarten teachers must meet with each family and student before school starts to talk about the child’s strengths and needs. The funding program for WaKIDS requires this conference before your student can start school. We will be sending you a booklet you can use to prepare for your meeting with your child’s teacher. We hope you and your child will have fun discussing the questions ahead of time. Please bring the booklet with you to the meeting as well. More information will be sent to kindergarten families prior to the conferences.
Your child(ren) will receive a cinch backpack and water bottle during their conference. Students will be able to check out their Chromebook at this time as well. More information will be available soon.
There will be more info to come with dates and times for students in the Distance+ model to check out their Chromebook. In addition, our district is committed to providing all the necessary and required school supplies needed for your student to complete their assignments and projects at home.
Below are examples of the supplies our schools are equipped to provide to make sure your child is ready for an #OHmazing education. Due to the generosity of our community through local levies, we are providing all the school supplies needed for our students. The materials needed for Distance+ may differ from the Hybrid Rotation Model, but all required school supplies will be provided by our district. If families still wish to purchase their own school supplies they are more than welcome to do so, but it won’t be required.

School Start and Dismissal Times
For safety, students will not be allowed on campus prior to 9:00 a.m.
Our starting and ending times have changed this year. Breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m. Our tardy bell (school start time) is 9:20 a.m. and our dismissal time is 3:25 p.m.

As we get closer to the beginning of school, we will be sending out more information about new pick up and drop off procedures, class lists, WAKids, parent-teacher conferences, school lunch information, and other pertinent information you need prior to the start of the school year. As we work to make class lists and schedule our students into the Hybrid model, we will take requests into account. Please recognize that not every request can be met.
We look forward to seeing all of our students again. We have missed each of you very much and hope that the rest of your summer is filled with fun and sun.
