The proud and mighty Cougars offer 5 seasons of athletic activities.
    Requirements for Athletics:
    • Sports Physical (good for 2 years)   Physical Form  (2018 - 2019 PDF)
    • ASB Card (per school year)
    • Athletic Fee (per sport)
    • Complete Athletic packet (per sport)

Each season, sport specific packets will be available in the office 2-3 weeks before practice starts.  The fee for each sport is $25, which can be waived if your student qualifies for free or reduced lunch.  The $15 ASB card helps supplement our ASB fund, and is good for one school year.  Our ASB pays for all athletic uniforms, gear/equipment, officials & referees, as well as many other things during the year.  You can pay these fees online by clicking the following link, with directions from our district website:
    2018 -2019 SPORTS SEASONS
Season 1: Sep-mid Oct  Cross Country (co-ed) & Girls' Soccer
Season 2: mid Oct-end Nov  Boys Basketball
Season 3: end of Nov-end Jan  Girls' Volleyball
Season 4: end of Jan-mid Mar  Girls' Basketball & Wrestling (co-ed)
Season 5: end of March-mid May  Track (co-ed) & Boys' Soccer

We have a variety of sports available for seventh and eighth grade students.  As a member of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), we participate in the Northwest Middle School Athletic League (NWMSL), competing in five seasons with other seventh and eighth grade teams from Skagit County.

Because we are limited by the number of students who may travel in each sport, there will be intramural squads that play each other while JV and Varsity squads will travel. At North Whidbey all students are encouraged to turn out and participate.

Sports is a great way for students to build relationships with others, boost self-confidence, learn how to work as a team, and increase coordination.

We hope that you will consider having your student participate in a sport.
