Welcome to Broad View Elementary!
I am the Learning Assistance Program (LAP) teacher at Broad View. My role is to coordinate the reading and math screenings used to identify students in need of extra support.
After students have been identified that need extra support in literacy, the LAP team works with the student using district curriculum designed for literacy intervention. This program is Leveled Literacy Intervention, also known as LLI. The team will work with each child in a small group setting using engaging leveled books that helps children improve in reading skills.
The LAP team has seven paraeducators, Ms. Perkins, Mrs. Frostad, Mrs. Sublet, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Fowler, Mrs. Wise, and Mrs. Mumper.
My teaching experience includes kindergarten, fifth grade, fourth grade, third grade, cluster teacher, and highly capable teacher. I have a dual masters in reading and math for grades kindergarten through sixth. Teaching children to learn is fun and exciting and I look forward to working with your child!
