A little about me...
As long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a teacher and to this day, I still feel the same. While I took a detour in the banking world for a few years, I'm now back in the classroom and am absolutely thrilled to be able to make a difference in the lives I touch.
This is my 12th year teaching at Oak Harbor Elementary and I have loved every minute! I truly believe building strong relationships with my students is paramount. I believe if a student feels safe, valued, and understand they are important to me, they will have the necessary freedom they need to grow and flourish. We have high expectations in 2nd grade and I believe each student will meet these expectations! We work hard to meet our learning goals and have a lot of fun along the way!Outside of school (what, you mean there is life outside of OHE?) I love to spend time with my family. I have three amazing sons, two of them are away now, one just graduated from college and is pursuing a new career and the other is in his junior year of college pursuing his dream. The youngest is stuck at home with mom and dad for the rest of this school year when he will graduate from OHHS and then on to college as well. We keep busy with swimming, football, and fishing but most of our time is consumed with soccer. We also enjoy camping, fishing, and hiking. Each night I wind down from the busy day by taking Gizmo (our Yorkie) for a walk - it does both of our bodies good. My husband and I love to ride our bikes and go for walks together. Each night, I like to read until I fall asleep and as my students will tell you ~ once my book hits me in the head 3 times I have to turn out the light, or if I'm reading on my iPad one hit in the head is usually enough and I turn out my light!Sincerely,Mrs. Jensen
