Oak Harbor Public Schools is excited to provide another round of engaging and exciting summer activities to keep students active, healthy, and learning. The district has partnered with a variety of community groups to provide FREE summer activities for our students. Please review any of the camps and fill out the following registration form associated with each camp. Links are available in each camp description. For grade level, please use the grade your child was in during the 2021-22 school year.

Bucket Drum Corps
Bucket Drum Corps
Brief Description:
Unleash your inner drummer! Led by professional percussionist and award-winning ASCAP composer Kit Mills, Bucket Drum Corps is a challenging but fun introduction to the world of drumming. During this two-week bucket drumming camp, you and your fellow drummers will learn a variety of patterns, grooves, stick tricks and choreographed movements that will make you look and sound great - even if you've never held a drumstick before! Come eager to learn and ready to "Bring the Groove".Grade Levels: Entering grades: (1) 7-9. (2) 10-12

Session 2: M-F, July 11 - 22
Time: 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. (Grades 7-9), 11 a.m. - Noon (Grades 10-12)All sessions will be hosted at the ClickMusic store on 1330 SW Barlow St. (across from the movie theater).

CLASSES
There is no maximum number for these classes. We expect about 6 students per class. With the exception of 10 for Wizard Band.
2 1-hour sessions per week (Tuesday and Thursday) which will be divided by age/skill level as needed.
June 27-July 22
July 25-August 26 (omit August 7-14)Clarinet Ensemble
For students who have played for 2 years or more, or 1 year with lessons. Tuesdays and Thursdays Minimum of 4 students.Tackle the fine points of learning music in a small group while playing Music of the Masters, movie themes and show tunes with your friends. You are sure to enjoy working on music that is initially difficult and turning it into something you are proud to perform. Instructor: Avi Rostov
Flute EnsembleFor students who have played for 2 years or more, or 1 year with lessons. Tuesdays and Thursdays Minimum of 4 students
Work on the fine points of learning music in a small group while playing Music of the Masters, movie themes and show tunes with your friends. Be part of that beautiful sound of flutes harmonizing to create an exciting program to share. Instructor: Arbor O’Brien
Saxophone Ensemble
For students who have played for 2 years or more, or 1 year with lessons Tuesdays and Thursdays. Minimum of 4 studentsWork on the fine points of learning music in a small group while playing Music of the Masters, movie themes and show tunes with your friends. There is nothing else like being part of the blended harmonies of similar instruments. Music will be provided. Instructor: Avi Rostov
Vocal Ensemble
For all ages. Minimum of 6 studentsStudents will sing entertaining tunes in this fun group. Focus will be on protecting your voice, developing your vocal skills, blending and having a great time. Music will be provided. Mondays and Wednesdays Instructor: Liz Hendricks
Wizard Band
For students who have played for 3 years or more, or 2 years with lessons. Students will explore playing music from their favorite movies and shows. Music will be provided. Tuesdays and Thursdays Minimum of 10 students Instructors: Avi Rostov, Arbor O’Brien
Saturday Music Camp
For children ages 5 to 12. 1 2-hour session per week.July 9 to July 30
August 6 to August 27
The camp will feature music games, singing, dancing and even trying out instruments. Sessions will include concert videos featuring dazzling performances by amazing young musicians. Minimum 4 students grouped by age Instructor: John Viljoen
LESSONS
There is no maximum number of students for lessons. Beginners through advanced students are welcome. We expect about 15 students. No prepayment is necessary.
Private instruction in choice of clarinet, flute, saxophone, violin, piano 1 ½ hour lesson per week. Monday-Saturday by appointment
