Summer Sports Camps FAQ

Thank you for your interest in signing up for one of our FREE Summer Sports Camps. We know many of you may have additional questions, so please go through our Frequently Asked Questions below to get some answers. Still, have a question? Please email us at briefs@ohsd.net.
FAQ
-
Why are camps not listed in the registration form?
Some camps have limited spots due to a variety of reasons. When we reach a limit of a camp, we allow for a few more people to register to fill out our wait-list. Then we remove the camp from the registration form. As a reminder, camps fill up on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
I have a child with disabilities, can they participate in camps?
Our camps can accommodate many students with disabilities. Please reach out to Peter Esvelt at PESVELT@ohsd.net with information about your child and the camp they selected. Our coaches will work with families about what accommodations are needed to make sure your child enjoys our camp to the best of our abilities.
-
Are masks required to be worn during camp?
Each camp will be following the District and State guidelines for Covid-19 related requirements. Each sport, being inside or outside, may have different parameters, and those requirements may change between sign-ups and the actual camp. Any requirements with masks and social distancing will be sent out a week prior to the beginning of each individual camp.
-
Will you provide transportation?
Transportation to and from each camp is the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the child.
-
What if my student is a grade below or grade higher than what's listed, can I sign them up?
The grade levels are designated by the coaches, who are choosing age-appropriate activities for the camp. Because of this, please follow the listed grade levels for the camp. If your child wants to continue with the sport and find more opportunities to grow, coaches will be providing information about youth sports that occur during the next school year.
-
Can we show up late to camps?
If your child is arriving late to one of our camp sessions, please accompany them or have an adult present to sign in with a coach or one of our camp supervisors. This ensures we know what students are with us each day.
-
What if my child can't make all of the days of the camp?
Though we are excited to coach your child each day of the camp, we realize some families may not be able to commit to every day. That is just fine! Sign up and join for the days that your child can join us. If signing up for a camp with a limited number of spots available (Golf, Swim), please make sure you can make the majority of the sessions.
