Oak Harbor Public Schools is excited to welcome back our Summer Camps and Activities Program. After a highly successful initial launch, OHPS remains committed to providing plenty of summer activities to keep students active, healthy, and learning. Below is the list of Summer Sports Camps available for students in grades K-8. These sports camps are engineered for ALL students, regardless of ability, and are organized by Oak Harbor High School coaches and student-athletes. Please review any of the camps and fill out the following registration form. For grade level, please use the grade your child is going to enter for the 2022-23 school year.
Please note, that registering for a camp does not solidify a spot at that camp. You will receive a confirmation email from Peter Esvelt when you've been accepted. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Esvelt.Important Notifications

Cheer Camp (1-8)
This clinic teaches young athletes the essential skills to lead the crowd and show their Wildcat Spirit!Each participant will learn cheers, motions, dance, movement, basic stunting, and jump techniques. The focus will be on having fun while each cheerleader learns important skills such as teamwork, setting goals, and leadership. The clinic will have a cheer performance on the final day and participants will receive a participation certificate.Where: OHHS Fieldhouse

What to Bring: Two snacks, a water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, and athletic shoes. -
Baseball Skills Camp (1-8)
The OHHS Baseball Team is hosting a Skills and Drills Camp for kids of all levels of ability. This camp will help athletes with the fundamentals of baseball like throwing, catching, and batting, and give everyone a chance to compete and succeed in the sport of baseball.
Where: OHHS Baseball Fields (Upper Fields)
When: June 27 -29
Time: 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Who: Available for Students entering Grades 1-8
What to Bring: Baseball mitt required -
Basketball Camps (Grades 1-8)
Come learn and play with the Oak Harbor High School basketball teams. The purpose of the camp is to teach kids the fundamentals of basketball in a fun, interactive way. With the help of current high school players, campers will see firsthand what it’s like being a Wildcat basketball player.

Football Camps (Grades 2-8)
This Skills Camp will introduce all kids to the basics skills, concepts, and drills related to throwing, passing, running, and scoring. Kids will practice and play against each other in a fun environment, and get coached by the OHHS Football players in games of Flag Football.
For the older campers, this will be an introduction to the Oak Harbor Football Team and teach future Wildcat Football players the schemes, skills, and plays that are run at the high school. This is a great chance to meet the high school coaches and players, and learn the basics that will lead to success in the future.

What to Bring: Soccer/Football cleats, mouthpiece optional -
Golf Camp (Grades 5-8)
Join the OHHS Boys and Girls Golf team and coaches, as well as local professional coaches, and learn the basics of putting, chipping, and hitting the long ball on the driving range.
Where: Whidbey GC ( 2430 Fairway Ln)
When: June 7-9 from 5 - 6:30 PM
Who: Available for Students entering Grades 5-8 in 2022-23 School Year (Next Year).
This camp is limited to 24 participants.
What to Bring: Basic set of Golf Clubs that fit the Student -
Running, Fitness, and Fun Camp (1-4)
The OHHS Cross Country Team and Coaches are leading this camp to introduce fitness and exercise to young athletes in a fun and exciting way. Kids will play games, participate in activities, and learn some basic yoga movements as well. This camp is designed for all young kids and all levels of experience and fitness.

Time: 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Who: Available for Students entering Grades 1 - 4 -
Soccer Camp (Grades 1-8)
This is a Camp for all ages and experience levels. Sign-up and learn the basics of soccer, through fun drills and games, led by the OHHS Soccer coaches and players. Whether you have played for years, or never played, this camp will give you a chance to learn and play in a fun and positive environment.
Where: Fort Nugent’s lower fields (2075 SW Fort Nugent Ave)

Times: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Who: Available for all students entering Grades 1-8
What to Bring: Soccer Cleats if possible -
Softball Camp (Grades 1-8)
Future OHHS Softball players come to learn, practice, and play with the OHHS Girls Softball Team. The purpose of the camp is to develop skills in defense, offense, and team play. Participants will work with high school softball players, who will take them through the drills they do in a season. Pitching and catching will be incorporated into the camp. This camp is for any ability level - the coaches are excited to work with anyone interested in learning and growing more within the sport of softball.

Grades 1-4: 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (Pitchers and catchers only stay until 11:30)
Grades 5-8: 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. (Pitchers and catchers only stay until 3)

What to Bring: Softball mitt and cleats if available -
Swim Programs (Grades 5-8)
This summer your swimmer is welcome to join us to learn water safety, swim basics, technique, endurance, dive fundamentals, and/or pool-based games, as well as a passion for the water for a lifetime of fun and fitness.
Where: OH Vanderzicht Pool (85 SE Jerome St)
When: Multiple Sessions throughout the summer
Who: Available for Students entering Grades 5-8Each individual session is capped at 12 participants. Please only Sign Up for one (1) of the sessions offered.
What to Bring: Goggles, swim cap (for swimmers w/ long hair), appropriate swimsuit, towel
Swim 101: Swimming Fundamentals: No swim experience necessary. Learn to float, front crawl, backstroke, water entry, tread, and respond to a water emergency.June 13-16 (3 - 3:45 p.m.); June 20-23 ( 2 - 2:45 p.m.); August 8-11 (12 - 12:45 p.m.); August 15-18 (12 - 12:45 p.m.)
Swim 102: Stroke Development: Must be able to swim the length of the pool. Learn breaststroke, butterfly, block starts, turns, and respond to a water emergency.
June 13-16 (4 - 4:45 p.m.); August 8-11 (1 - 1:45 p.m.); August 15-18 (1 - 1:45 p.m.)
Water Fun Fitness: No swim experience necessary. Play water volleyball, water polo, and other aquatics-based games.
July 22-24; July 29-31; August 5-7; August 12-14; August 19-21: All WFF Sessions from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Track & Field Olympics (1-4)
The OHHS Track & Field Athletes and Coaches would like to host the Oak Harbor Elementary Olympics. Elementary students will be taught a variation of running, jumping, and throwing events and then be given a chance to participate in each event in the OHHS Elementary Decathlon!

Who: Available for Students entering 1st - 4th Grade -
Tennis Camp (Grades 5-8)
Come join the OHHS Boys and Girls Tennis Teams and Coaches and learn a competitive sport that can be played for a lifetime. Kids will be learning the basics of tennis and sportsmanship through drills and challenging games while having lots of fun!

Volleyball Camp (Grades 1-8)
Come learn and play with the Oak Harbor High School volleyball team. Accommodations for all ages and experience levels will be made. Whether it's your passion, or you just want to try something new, this is the camp for you! OHHS Volleyball Camp encourages you to sign up for OHHS Girls Basketball Camp as well. The dates/times work together.

Wrestling Camp (Grades 1-8)
For both camps, athletes will learn the basics of Folkstyle wrestling and compete in competitive games that stress fitness, sportsmanship and fun! By the end of camp, kids will be able to wrestle in all three of the major positions in wrestling. For the Middle School Camp, wrestlers will be introduced to the High School Wrestling Team, and have the chance to practice and drill at higher speeds with the high school wrestlers.
