150th Anniversary of Arbor Day at Sumner Park

The City of Oak Harbor and Oak Harbor Public Schools hosted a significant Arbor Day tree planting event at Sumner Park to commemorate this being the 150th Year Anniversary of Arbor Day and the City’s 20th year as a Tree City USA. To mark these momentous occasions, the City educated over 400 students from Olympic View Elementary about how to plant and take care of trees and the essential safety measures around planting trees, including dialing 8-1-1 before digging. Each student also took home a t-shirt and a goodie bag with planting resources
