Greetings, Panther Military Families!
A student ‘Deployment Support Group’ is being held virtually through video conferencing each week for 8-consecutive sessions! The support group provides educational materials, fun activities, and experiential expression for each student. A specific topic is covered weekly; this allows students to learn with their peers and to express their thoughts and feelings about the subject matter. The support group provides a safe place for students to process their emotions. Students are offered tools to access during stressful and challenging times. Topics discussed are ‘Moving and Making friends, What their Military Parent does for work, Deployment, Patriotism, Managing Difficult feelings, Staying in Contact when a parent is deployed and Reintegration’.
Expanded services are being offered to active-duty military families and their children. This includes individual and/or family counseling via a video conferencing platform. Appointments can be scheduled by contacting the Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC), Sandra Heilman at (360) 320-8753
