North Whidbey MS Athletic Field, Track and Play AreaWe have a variety of sports available for seventh and eighth-grade students. As a member of the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), we participate in the Northwest Middle School Athletic League (NWMSL), competing in five seasons with other seventh and eighth grade teams from Skagit County. Students have the opportunity to take part in 10 athletic activities, fielding 24 interscholastic competitive teams, along with intramural teams for boys’ and girls’ swimming, boys’ and girls’ basketball and girls’ volleyball.
Because we are limited by the number of students who may travel in each sport, there will be intramural squads that play each other while JV and Varsity squads will travel. At North Whidbey, all students are encouraged to turn out and participate.Sports are a great way for students to build relationships with others, boost self-confidence, learn how to work as a team, and increase coordination.21-22 Sport FAQ's
