Our Assistant Principal
My name is Jeremy Kidd and I am excited to join Oak Harbor Public Schools as the Elementary Assistant Principal this year! This is my fourth year as a school administrator. Prior to that I was an elementary school teacher for nine years. I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with my degree in elementary education, and in 2014 graduated from Washington State University with my principal certificate and degree in educational leadership.
One of my primary goals as an educator is to find ways to help our students with the highest needs to have the same opportunities for learning and life as their peers. A student may be new to our language and country. Another may struggle to make academic gains despite intensive intervention. A first grader may struggle to come to school or stay in class because she really misses her mom. Part of my job is to help students in situations like these gain access to the support they need so they focus on learning.
My role is new in Oak Harbor and your fabulous elementary principals and I will continue to work on how I can best serve the students here. I will be working at each of the five elementary schools, so you won’t see me at your school every day, but when you do, feel free to say hello!
