Homework is an integral part of our kindergarten experience. It provides a purposeful opportunity in which parents will interact with their child's learning. In the beginning of the year, all students will have the same homework; a monthly reading log and a monthly calendar of activities. The reading log encourages parents or older siblings, and students to read together daily for approximately 15-20 minutes. The monthly calendar presents fun learning activities, which students and families work together and they relate to curricular areas and real life experiences. Homework will be sent home at the beginning of each month and will be due back the last day of each month. As the year progresses, homework will be differentiated to best support each child's individual educational needs.
Grades are recorded with one of four grade letters:
O - Outstanding for exceeding expectations
S - Satisfactory for meeting expectations
P - Progressing towards grade level expectations
N - Needs improvement
