Homework will be given when practice of a skill is needed. Students will be expected to finish classwork in class, in the event that classwork it not finished it may be assigned as homework. All assignments will be listed in their planner. The planner should be signed by an adult indicating that all homework is finished.

It is the responsibility of each student to work towards improvement of his or her grade. Students will receive letter grades in the subject area this year. Here is the scoring reference:
Grading for fifth grade is based on 50% Mathematics and 50% Science. In each of these subjects there are summative assessments worth 100 points, formative assessments worth 50 points, and skills worth 10 points. Any grade, on an assessment, less than a 70% can be retaken after the student receives adequate tutoring of the subject matter. Assignments listed as Skills , which receive less than a 70%, will be evaluated by the teacher to see if they qualify for makeup. Late assignments will not be qualify for makeup unless they are due to an absence or extenuating circumstance. Late work is accepted for partial credit.

3.Grade is 50% math and 50% science.
Report Cards-Family Access
Intermediate school report cards are issued at the end of each trimester and students are assessed in accordance with Oak Harbor Public Schools board policy. Parents can keep tabs on their children's progress and their problems by checking online in Family Access, a secure system that also allows you to check attendance and more. Account information is provided to each family by the school office at the start of the school year. Talk to our school front office about Family Access or learn more here.
