Hillcrest Green Team Participates and Informs the Region

On January 26, 2017, Hillcrest Green Team members were honored to present at the 2017 Storming the Sound Conference.  Students and staff shared with regional environmental educators what it takes to start and maintain a National Green Ribbon School. The highlight of the presentation was 2nd-graders McKenzie Burdick, Ryan Murphy, and Carter Allbaugh along with 5th-graders Carlee Meadows, Taylor Brown, Caitlin Randall, and Eden Cardenas explaining to the audience the inner workings to the composting, vermicomposting, and Terracycling Recycling programs at our school.  These student ambassadors did an outstanding job showcasing many of the environmental learning opportunities all students are involved in at Hillcrest. Please view the presentation below, including the embedded videos of students explaining the inner workings of what it takes to "sustain" our green school.
