FREE Summer Food Program
Oak Harbor Public Schools is excited to host the seventh annual Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) beginning Tuesday, June 21. The nationwide program is designed to serve FREE meals to ALL children 18 years and under during the summer season. This year, our nutrition service department estimates over 12,000 FREE lunches will be served to the Oak Harbor community.
The FREE program is available Monday-Friday and runs through Friday, August 19. Lunch is typically served at 11 a.m. and has the required five USDA components, which are milk, fruit, vegetable, meat, and bread. A breakfast meal option is only available at our Olympic View Elementary location from 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Meals are served for roughly 30 minutes and need to be eaten on-site.
All families are encouraged to participate in this program, NO SIGN-UP or REGISTRATION is required. The USDA estimates over 200 million lunches will be served across the country this summer. Any questions about the program should be sent to Melissa Miller. We also need volunteers! If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Ms. Miller directly at 541.233.9064.
