Learning Resources

  • Reading -

    Each student has an Orca Reading Log. Students are encouraged to read or be read to 20 minutes, complete the reading log, and parents'initial to confirm the child was reading. 

    Homework

    Is non-graded and enrichment activities to support academic growth.

    Vocabulary and Phonics - Word lists are sent home with practice ideas. Time in class is provided for practice as well. 

    Grades 
     
    Grades are recorded with one of four grade letters:
       O (4) - Outstanding for exceeding expectations
       S (3) - Satisfactory for meeting expectations
       P (2) - Progressing towards grade level expectations
       N (1) - Needs improvement

    Students are free to redo any assignment or test to improve their understanding of the concepts and or the score.  

    Report Cards - Family Access 

    Elementary report cards are issued at the end of each trimester and students are assessed in accordance with Oak Harbor Public Schools board policy. Parents can view their children's information by checking online in Skyward Family Access, a secure system that allows you to check attendance and more. Account information is provided to each family by the school office at the start of the school year.     Clever Login

    This is all you will need. It is also accessible through the Oak Harbor Public Schools technology resources. Student login is the projected year of graduation (29) for this year's third graders, then first initial and last name as one word.  Example 29jstudent for Joe Student. The password is oak and the five digit lunch/library number of the student. Example oak12345. There are a few exceptions, so let me know if you encounter difficulties.
