Kindergarten Parent Orientation

  • Our annual Kindergarten Parent Orientation night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, at 6 p.m. at the Oak Harbor High School Student Union Building.  Parents with a five-year-old before September 1, 2020, are encouraged to attend this wonderful evening of information.  Each of our five elementary school principals will be available along with food service, transportation, and specific community groups to answer any questions.  There will be a short presentation from Superintendent Dr. Lance Gibbon about the excellent opportunities for your child as they enter our exciting kindergarten program.

    5:45 p.m.  Doors Open - School and Community Tables are available
    6:15 p.m.  Short Presentation from Dr. Gibbon (with a Surprise)
    6:45 p.m.  Get your specific questions answered from staff or community tables
     Childcare will be provided by our wonderful volunteers from the High School Key Club.

    Boundary Maps
    Before you come to the orientation, it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with your neighborhood elementary school.  Use our easy to read interactive Boundary Map to know your school of residence. 

    Registration begins Wednesday, April 22, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. We will have extra staff at each campus to assist you. Reminder, the first day of kindergarten instruction is Wednesday, Sept. 9, three days after the district's first day of school.  Sept. 3, 4 and 8 are reserved for your individual Parent-Teacher-Student Conference.
