• If my student is absent?

If your student should miss a day of school, please notify us immediately.  You can call the office 360.279.5503 and then follow up with a note or email (nwmsattendance@ohsd.net) to the office within 48 hours upon their return. If you have a pre-planned event where your student will be out of school for 2 or more days, please send us a note 3 days ahead of the absence.  We then will give your student a contract to take around to their teachers and obtain homework.

    • A parent/guardian signature and the current date

    • Absence due to illness, health condition, or family emergency
    • Absence resulting from disciplinary actions or short-term suspension

    Homework during an absence
You may request homework for your student via family access.  If you do not know your family access log in or password please contact the registrar at 360.279.5519.  Homework may be requested formally after your child has been absent for two consecutive days.  When requesting homework, call the attendance line 360.279.5503 and indicate that your student has been out for two days and you would like to request homework.  This has to be done before 10 AM to allow teachers time to gather work together.  Work will be sent to the office for parent pick up.   The office closes at 3 p.m.

Most teachers post work on their web sites.  Missing assignments are posted in the grade book section of family access.
