Communication

  • Our families and students are very important to us and we encourage open communication about your child's education. We urge you to contact the person directly involved in the matter of interest to you first.    
     
    computer watch Teacher Messages
    It is best to call teachers before or after the school day, or to send them a note or email.  They are not able to to take calls or meet with parents during instructional time. 
     
    Student Messages
    If you have an important message for your student regarding transportation or special situations at home, please call the office before 3 p.m. Messages after that may not get to your student prior to dismissal.
     
    Cell Phones
    Cell phones must be turned off and remain in students’ backpacks during class time. It is our recommendation that unless truly needed, cell phones should remain at home.
     
    Emergency Contact Information
    Please ensure that the school office has your current home/work/cell numbers and address. It is also helpful to provide the school an emergency contact in the event that you cannot be reached or are unavailable on a particular day. If you will be out of town, please send a note to the office indicating the person who is caring for your student.
     
    Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA)   
    You have the right to choose whether your student’s information is released or not.  Please file an FERPA Opt Out form  with your school if you do not wish to:
    1. Release directory information about the student.
    2. Have your student photographed at school for the school website, newspaper, school-related news publications.
    3. For grades 9-12, release directory information to the military. If you do not want information to be released to the military, you must return the form by Oct. 1 in order to ensure that your preferences are entered in time.
