An early childhood developmental service
ChildFind seeks to identify and assist families with young children ages three to five years who are not currently enrolled in school and may need special education services. The screenings are held five times during the school year. Evaluations for possible intellectual or physical disabilities are available in the areas of hearing, vision, speech, language, health, learning and developmental delay, behavior management, birth defects, and orthopedic or spinal development.
Free Screenings
The screening itself takes approximately one and a half hours to complete. During this time, children will be given a free vision, hearing, speech, language and developmental check. While their child is being screened, parents will be asked to provide general information on their child's development. Their child's baby book or calendar may be helpful to parents in answering some of the questions. Results will be provided to the parents after their child's screening has been completed.
Appointments
An appointment is required for a ChildFind preschool screening. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 360.279.5928. If your child is already in school, please contact your school principal to request testing.
