  • Welcome Message

    Dear Students and Families,

I am proud to be part of this Oak Harbor Public Schools community!  My roots run deep in the Pacific Northwest; I grew up in Anacortes and attended Anacortes High School and Western Washington University.  I started with Oak Harbor Public Schools in 2007-2008 as an English Teacher at Oak Harbor Middle School and transferred to Oak Harbor High School in 2009-2010.  I have taught English at all secondary grade levels and am currently teaching 9th and 10th grade English.  I enjoy teaching all students, regardless of age or skill level, and feel privileged to work in this district with so many talented, hardworking and caring young people.  I truly believe this generation has the potential to make the world a better place.

My primary goal as an English teacher is to promote critical thinking in my students through coursework that inspires students to ask deep questions and imagine new possibilities, while helping them develop valuable skills for life beyond high school.  Through reading and writing, I encourage my students to explore complex ideas about the human condition and develop healthy habits of mind that will guide them to a rewarding and meaningful future.

    Sincerely,
    Ms. Arrendale
