• Dear Students and Families,

My name is Kat McCarroll and I am so excited to be your child's second-grade teacher this year! This will be my second year in 2nd grade at Olympic View. I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in: "Community, Environment, & Planning." I also have my Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governors University. Outside of school, I love reading, playing with my two dogs, and exploring different trails and parks.

We always have a lot of fun in second grade and we will do some really neat stuff this year! I love to incorporate projects into our learning and try to include them whenever we can. I also believe that getting to know each student and their interests is crucial for helping them grow and learn. I try and celebrate students' achievements at school, both academic and social!

Throughout the year, I will communicate through emails, notes home, and phone calls. Each month, students will come home with an award for when I catch them showing the character trait of the month. There will also be awards sent home when they reach certain academic milestones. Contact me anytime if you need to discuss your child or their classwork. I look forward to getting to know you and your student this year!

      Ms. McCarroll
