Ms. Rachel Miller

  • My name is Rachel Miller. I have taught Life Skills in the district for three years. This year will be my fourth year. I am so excited to be here at Olympic View Elementary.  Here is a little about me to help you and your child get to know me. I moved here about five years ago with my mixed hound dog. I was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I went to school at Western Governors University. I have enjoyed my time here on Whidbey Island. I love being close to the ocean and having so many fun places to hike, paddle, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Teaching is important to me because it is one of the few professions where you can say that you have made a difference in the world. Making a difference in the world is my life-long dream. I decided I would become a teacher so that I could make a difference in at least one student’s life. When teaching, you affect students in many respects. I can help them to find their calling or just plant the seed of a lifelong love for learning. In my teaching philosophy, I plan to achieve both. I want to help students realize their unique way of learning, as well as discover a life-long love for learning.

I love teaching and learning. I hope that my love of education will affect each of my students in a positive way. I am excited to see your child’s growth throughout the school year. I value parents that are involved in their student’s education. I encourage parents to call or email me to ask any questions as well as to set up appointments with me to talk in person.
