Welcome Message
Hello students and families!
I am excited to be a part of the Crescent Harbor family this year! I have been teaching for ten years and this will be my second year at Crescent Harbor. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I taught as a Special Education Teacher for 5 years in Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades. For the past 4 years I taught in San Diego, California as an Autism/Behavior teacher in a multi-age classroom for 2nd and 3rd grades.
I follow a love and logic approach to teaching and believe in educating the whole child, including academics, social-emotional learning, and behavioral needs. I take care to differentiate instruction and approach for all students’ needs to create individualized learning plans unique to each student's needs. I promote respect and dignity for both children and adults through a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment. As the new school year approaches, I will be reaching out to provide you more information about our classroom, class-wide positive behavior system, and home-school communication.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy playing with my dog, traveling, spending time outdoors, running, cooking, and spending time with family. I look forward to meeting all of you and having a great school year!
Sincerely,
Ms. Kate Zajac
