Every day more than 2,500 students are safely transported to and from school with one of the nation's best safety records.
There are 32 bus routes, each one operating twice each morning and twice each afternoon. High school and middle school students are transported first and elementary and intermediate after.
A Bus Code of Conduct is strictly enforced. Cameras on each bus help identify problems and solve conflicts in an effort to keep buses under safe management at all times.

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a national movement to increase the number of students walking and biking to school safely. In partnership with the City of Oak Harbor and Island County Public Health, Oak Harbor School District is implementing substantial long-term solutions to increase the number of children who walk and bike safely to and from Oak Harbor schools. By working together, we can create safe walking and biking routes for our children, improve traffic safety and transportation efficiency, and promote health and fitness. Below is the link that shows safe walking routes for students within one mile of Olympic View Elementary.
