Welcome to Oak Harbor and Olympic View Elementary. My name is Mrs. Lori Sandberg and I came to Whidbey Island over 30 years ago to raise my family. After a drive across Deception Pass Bridge, we decided that we'd come to the place to call home. Here my husband and I raised our family. Both our children  graduated from Oak Harbor High School and have gone on to successful careers in the technology industry.
 
I have experience teaching in first through twelfth grades and kindergarten and feel lucky to now work in the district where I live. I have worked in several states and four districts in WA state. I have a Masters Degree in education from Western Washington University, the same university that my daughter and son-in-law graduated from.

I find each year to still be exciting and interesting. This year is certainly unique, as it will be my last year as a full-time teacher. I look forward to meeting the students and families, as we work together for the greatest possible success for all. One of my greatest joys in life is watching a child learn a new skill and seeing that light of knowledge in the child's eyes. 

When I am not at school working, I am usually traveling. Mostly I travel to West Seattle to see my granddaughters and enjoy the fun of being "Grandma"! I also have enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and many foreign countries.
