My name is Melissa Roussell. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor In Reading and Language Arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
This is, happily, my eighth year at Olympic View Elementary School and this will be my sixteenth year of teaching. My goals as an educator are to build a positive and kind enviornment and also to support more authentic and natural learning experiences with literature-based instruction (abundant read alouds with quality children's literature). I am dedicated to helping our students here at OVE become better readers, writers and thinkers.
I will also look forward to a year filled with smiles, friendship, inspiration and, of course, an excitement to always want to keep questioning, discovering and learning!
