Olympic View teacher has her day made a whole lot better

OVE third grade teacher Shawn Sullivan was surprised by the local OfficeMax store, bearing gifts for her and their students. In all, she received a package of school supplies worth about $2,000. Office Max makes the surprise presentation as part of its national "A Day Made Better" promotion. You can read more about the surprise in the Whidbey News-Times .

The GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program is currently seeking current second, third, and fourth graders who may be intellectually gifted and/or academically talented. Students can be nominated by teachers, parents or community members. Deadline is EXTENDED to FRIDAY, FEB. 3 at 9 am. See information and forms .
