Test Prep On-line Resource
March 2 Success is an on-line test preparation course that will provide help with taking standardized tests, and improve math and English skills. March 2 Success is free. The program is developed by the Army and will help prepare students for: assessment examinations, college entrance examinations, trade school entrance tests, military entrance test, and applying for a job. PSAT Test
Date: Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

Who: Juniors
Details: Practice SAT test. Juniors are highly encouraged to test since it may also qualify them for a National Merit Scholarship. Space is limited with Juniors given priority registration. Sophomores are welcome on a space available basis.
Sign Up: Cost—$18.00 MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO OHHS and pay Mrs. Harasti in the ASB office. After making payment, give receipt to Mrs. Jasman in the Counseling Center to complete registration. Juniors are given first priority for sign-up beginning Tuesday, September 18th. Other grades may register beginning Tuesday, September 25th. Registration closes at the end of second lunch on Tuesday, October 16th.

PLAN Test
Date: Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

Who: Sophomores
Details: Practice ACT test. Sophomores are encouraged to take this test to practice for the ACT and take an interest survey to help in their career exploration. Space is limited.
Sign Up: Cost—$17.00 MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO OHHS and pay Mrs. Harasti in the ASB office. After making payment, give receipt to Mrs. Jasman in the Counseling Center to complete registration. Sophomores are given first priority for sign-up beginning Tuesday, October 16th. Other grades may register starting Tuesday, October 23rd. Registration closes at the end of second lunch on Friday, November 9th (deadline changed due to Veteran's Day holiday).

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Test
Date: Wednesday, October 31st, 2012
Time: 8:00 am
Location: OHHS
Who: Juniors and Seniors
Details: The ASVAB is a multi-aptitude test battery consisting of eight short individual tests covering a variety of subjects. Students taking the test receive scores on each individual test as well as career exploration scores. After taking the test, students have the option of receiving more information from the military about the results or they can choose not to be contacted.
Sign Up: No cost. Students interested in taking the test can sign up in the Counseling Center beginning in mid-October. Priority is given to Juniors and Seniors. Sophomores may test on a space available basis.
SAT & ACT TESTS
The ACT and SAT are standardized tests used for college admission purposes. Most schools will accept either test. However, some universities/colleges may require a specific test or additional testing such as the SAT II Subject Tests. Please check with the schools you are applying to in order to verify which tests they require for admission. Both tests are given multiple times throughout the school year in a variety of locations. Registration is done online and deadlines are normally one month prior to the actual test date.
ACT Test
Who: Juniors and Seniors
Details: The fee for the ACT test (No Writing) is $35.00. ACT Plus Writing is $50.50. Registration fee includes score reports for four colleges if codes are provided at time of registration. ACT preparation materials are available in the Counseling Center.

SAT Test
Who: Juniors and Seniors
Details: The fee for the SAT Reasoning Test is $50.00. You can take either the SAT Reasoning Test or up to three Subject Tests during a given test administration. Registration fee includes score reports for four colleges. When registering you must indicate the SAT Reasoning Test or each Subject Test you intend to take. The basic fee for the SAT Subject Tests is $23 + $12 for each test (except Language with Listening which is $23). The SAT Preparation Booklet is available in the Counseling Center.

College Test Prep
Test preparation is now available through our WOIS website license so you can practice for the PSAT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, ACT, AP Subjects, and ASVAB at home by accessing the WOIS website at www.wois.org. Your counselor or Ms. Hurst can provide you with the site key you will need for access (we are not allowed to publish it as part of the license agreement).
