Full-day Kindergarten

Girl hams it up for the camera on Day one of school

To be eligible for kindergarten in Washington State, children must be five years old on or before August 31. Immunizations, with proper verification, as well as proof of age are strictly required.

Oak Harbor offers half-day every day kindergarten at most schools. Oak Harbor offers the following full-day every-day kindergarten:

Olympic View Elementary: Funded by the legislature, this regular kindergarten class is free to those families in the attendance area. If there is space available for transfer students, it will be announced in late August. Students would then be selected based on a lottery.

Fee based: A regular session of all-day K held at Oak Harbor Elementary is open to any family. The cost for 2013-14 is $260. Call 279-5000 to learn about space availability.

Developmental K: This is a special education class held at Oak Harbor Elementary. Students must qualify based on their developmental need.

Title 1 K: This federally-funded program is for families that qualify based on income. To learn more, call 279-5000.
